There is no perfect manual for parenting today, but the one thing I think we all must do is educate ourselves. If your kids want to get on Facebook, Mom and Dad, you have to do it, too. We must learn the rules of the road on today’s digital playgrounds and the only way to do that is to play beside our kids. Facebook, texting, chat and social media aren’t bad. They are manifestations of today’s world and to properly prepare kids for success in that world parents and mentors must understand it. There is a great deal to learn but the good news is, we get to spend time talking to and connecting with our kids.
