Erin Dale - Certified for K-12
Beginning her educational career in Oshkosh, WI, in 1989, Erin Dale first worked with third grade students in a low income area school. There Erin began learning how to instill in students, teachers, and parents the importance of tolerance and kindness towards others through meaningful conversations. Erin and her colleagues began to hold weekly classroom meetings wherein every child had a voice, conflicts were discussed, and solutions brought to the forefront. Students were empowered by their own sense of belonging and purpose. In 1996 Erin began teaching 6th grade in Selby, SD where she continued these weekly group meetings with her students. Building these communities made a big difference as it instilled a sense of worth and belonging in the lives of many of her students. Erin continues to promote these crucial character traits through her bullying sessions. Her most recent work focuses on teaching area teachers sound research-based literacy strategies. Her favorite part is that she gets to teach in the classroom with the teacher and the students. Erin is thrilled to be able to share her expertise in the area of bullying with our area youth.
