I had kind of a hard life before Kevin came and got me. There was this dog named Hector who always bullied me and made me stay under the couch. I wanted to be brave, but I was scared. There were other dogs who could have helped me but they were scared of Hector, too. Hector wasn’t alone either! He had henchmen. Dogs who helped him bully me and make my life hard. When I was scared, I couldn’t learn tricks like other dogs. All I knew how to do was stay under the couch! Now that I have escaped Hector and his henchmen I want to tell kids everywhere what happened to me and help them keep bullies from chasing them under the couch!

I've told Starbuck's story to thousands of kids, and as I have done this I’ve carefully crafted and recrafted a narrative that is designed to get kids to engage with the ideas behind whay bullying happens.
